QVK9 Mission Statement

QVK9 Mission Statement

Who we are

Queen Village Canine (QVK9) is an organized social group of dog owners promoting responsible dog ownership, outreach and volunteer maintenance of the dog run at Mario Lanza park in the Queen Village neighborhood of Philadelphia. We are an advocate for dog owners in Queen Village, and work as partners with other organizations to improve the experience of living in our neighborhood for everyone.

What we do:

We host “Yappy Hours” at various dog-friendly businesses in Queen Village and host holiday parties at local businesses. Our goal is to give dog owners opportunities to meet and socialize with their neighbors while benefitting local animal charities.

We occasionally have meetings covering a variety of pet topics and volunteer opportunities. We invite guest speakers to address topics including, but not limited to:  Pet First Aid, Pet Safety, Training, Behavior, and ways to help strays and animals in need of adoption in Philadelphia.

We organize regular dog run clean-ups and raise funds (primarily via Membership) for park maintenance and improvements.

We team with different charities benefitting animals of all shapes and sizes. We collect money and needed items and donate these to the charities.
